We spend our lives striving to be at peace—trying to permanently eliminate any sense of inadequacy that no amount of success, healing, or recognition has yet seemed to produce. The articles here examine that project: what it is, why it fails, and what self-awareness offer in its place. Our desire to find permanent emotional/material security may actually reinforce the basic sense of lack/anxiety that we’re trying to eliminate. In other words, the quest for permanent freedom from our personal suffering might be the very thing keeping us from our deepest fulfillment.
